Commercial Operations
CASR 101.270 states: A person/company may operate a UAV for hire or reward only if the person/company holds a UAV operator’s certificate that authorises the person/company to operate the UAV.
Additionally, an individual who pilots a UAV in a commercial operation is required to have an appropriate licence (RPC or UAV CC).
Therefore Commercial Drone operations require two things:
- An Unmanned Operators Certificate (UOC) issue by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, and
- A UAV/RPA Pilots licence issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. There are two types of UAV/RPA pilot licences namely a UAV Controllers Certificate (UAV CC) or a Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC)
